Senegal's Demba Ba relishing Premier League return?

Former Chelsea, Newcastle and West Ham striker Demba Ba has admitted he could have returned to the Premier League last summer.

Ba who has 99 Premier League appearances and 43 goals, left Turkish side Besiktas for Shanghai Shenhua, joining the influx of foreign players in the Chinese Super League. He told the BBC: “I was very close to a return last summer and I was very close not to leave Chelsea for Besiktas (in 2014). I have to say I miss the Premier League.”

“I wouldn’t say it’s unfinished business, I try to watch it on TV because it’s the league I love the most, if one day I come back it’s because I want to have fun and I want to continue to enjoy my football like all the years I did in England.”

Ba left Chelsea in 2014 after 18 months, scoring 14 goals in 51 games.

Two of his most memorable goals came against Paris Saint-Germain and Liverpool respectively in April 2014.
